I also commission architectural wood inlay designs to pay homage to a special building in your life: grandma's front porch, your first home, family restaurant or favorite building in your hometown - and hang your own lasting legacy in your home today.
Begin your commission with a cherished photo that I can base my design from. If local, I can visit a site myself to take photos for the best starting image. I can turn your image into a floating shelf, wall hanging, tabletop or other creative idea! This is the California Club historic building in Auburn CA.
I love playing with angles and perspective to make the features with character stand out in a unique and alluring way. I use repurposed wood panels for the backing - I use as much salvaged material as possible.
I carefully choose from an array of wood species to select the perfect color and grain pattern to create lines, shapes, shadows and perspective using my scroll saw. There is no stain used! Each piece is individually cut like a jigsaw puzzle. I also employ inlay material like real brass to highlight special features.
