Halcyon Woods Creative specializes in unique and custom-designed woodworks and artworks. You can purchase pieces at any of the events and markets I show at. I take payments through cash, check and Venmo. I cannot take credit card at this time but will be opening an online store soon. You can also purchase and commission pieces directly by emailing me or messaging through social media and asking about a piece you see on this website (check out the Portfolio section). If a piece you're looking for has sold or hasn't been created yet, commissioning a piece is a simple process and I would love to create a custom piece just for you! To commission a piece, email / call / message through social media about your interest and your contact information. We will chat about your idea and expected timelines and general cost. I will send over the Commission agreement and then we begin! Ill create first draft sketches or show examples of a piece to be modeled after, and with the thumbs up on the project the customer will send a deposit to begin the work. Depending on the complexity of the project, progress photos or follow-up check-ins might take place if needed. Final payment is due when the piece is complete. I personally love to hand-deliver my pieces to their new owners! Local deliveries in the Sacramento / Auburn area personally delivered by the artist. Shipping pieces can be arranged and are an additional cost. 

Small items like earrings or mirrors do not need a commission or deposit - just a little time to create the piece for you. 

The length of time it takes to begin and complete a woodworking piece is dependent on its complexity, functionality, the size and number of custom/irregular cuts. A custom pair of earrings might be ready within 5 days of contacting me. A large custom architectural floating shelf based on a photo of the building the customer provides might take as long as 60 days depending on other orders.  I will provide an estimated timeline during the commissioning process. However, there are pieces already made and for sale! 

Love it! This is why I fell in love with wood and created Halcyon Woods Creative - it tells a story! If you have special wood or other item you want incorporated into a piece, I would love the chance to make your piece honor your roots. Lets chat about it! Wood should be dried at least 2 years and be free of pests and stored properly. 

I take trees that have already fallen and reuse them in my pieces in unique ways. I chainsaw the pieces in the woods myself and cart the logs home to begin the 2-year drying process. Everything I make is original to me and completely designed by me. I operate all my handtools and power tools myself and do each step of the process myself. It takes a lot of time and care and over a dozen tools to make each of my pieces - and its taken years to hone the craft of woodworking. I dont use a CNC, laser cutter or other computerized tools. I don't even own a planer - I prefer my old school router sled I made! My pieces are designed to highlight the beauty of salvaged local wood, and minimizing over-consumption of materials while also telling your story in a piece that will last a lifetime. Each piece is entirely unique and cannot by entirely replicated. Nothing is mass-produced. Thats the beauty of art!
