I love the energy creating brings into my life. I dont often make the same thing twice and make each piece as an expression of itself. I enjoy the painstaking manual process of each step, as time consuming and messy as it is. The finished piece is important to me - but I savor the process of making it all myself.
When I'm not managing nature preserves at my day job, I am in my shop gluing, sawing, sketching, sanding.... you get the idea! Im in there a lot.
The other part about life in my woodshop is sharing it with my Quality Supervisor and Safety Manager - AKA Jake the old Coonhoud and Olive the Malinois. Sometimes MowMow the cat drops by with some design advice.
The date for my next show is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out! Ill be at the City of Auburn's ArtWalk 2024 on August 2nd at Placer Land Trust's downtown office!

The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
I have been making art since I began having memories. I started with drawing, then sculpting, then jewelry-making. In my college years, I painted extensively. I moved to the woods of Alabama after I graduated college and my years in rural Appalachia were the most impactful years of my life and surfaced in me a grit I didn’t really know I had. When I moved there my dad bought me my first set of power tools so I would not be quite so helpless out there. From there I started making dog houses and chicken coops, then when I needed furniture, I decided I would teach myself how to make it. In these 10 years of woodworking, I have found that in a world full of problems, woodworking was a space where I enjoyed the challenges presented by the wood, space, function and aesthetics and designing ways to solve those problems and provide an alternative to environmentally destructive and mindless consumerism. I am so excited to create and bring authentic pieces to life. Joining my original loves, painting, jewelry-making and woodworking, together has felt like coming home and revisiting my own halcyon days.
I would love to be a part of bringing a unique piece that tells your story into YOUR home.
